As an influential Montreal web design company with close ties to the tech community, we come into contact with new and exciting technologies every week. Out of all the design services Montreal companies are offering, future-proofing remains one of the most difficult. As the power of the web continues to seep into every corner of our modern lives, we ponder this question: where is all this technology heading? What’s at stake for us in the near future and beyond?
Websites Will Look More Like Apps
The Web Will Make Better Use of Current and Future Hardware
Technology entrepreneurs are going crazy for virtual reality (VR) technology and as processing power grows across the board we expect this trend to continue. VR games are going viral across the web, proving that this technology is exciting and worth sharing. This same tech is also being used for architecture planning, home redecoration previewing, and it even has medical applications too. Google have stated that they want to bring VR to everyone on any device. They have been seen backing VR-enabled sites and continue to support this technology through the development of their Chrome web browser. As a Montreal web design company that is focused on the future, we welcome all hardware adaption by the web.
The Wearable Web
Although they got off to a shaky start, wearables are still being invented, brought to market, and bought. Google Glass may have been a bit before its time but products such as smart running shoes, heart rate monitoring wireless headphones, and fitness tracker bands and watches are seeing a rise in use. As we mentioned in the previous section, the web will begin to better integrate these devices. In the past, browsers were designed so that websites would not have access to the private parts of your computer’s hardware but with the growth of social media such as Facebook, people have begun to relax their views about privacy on the web. All of these gadgets will have seamless integration into app-like websites. We look forward to the far flung day in the future when the design services Montreal has on offer are focused on cyborg interactivity.
Hopefully, a Solution to Website Bloat
As it stands, the average user is being left behind. With the more tech-savvy population opting to use a variety of adblock plugins for their computers and devices, most users are at the mercy of bloated web pages which lead to poor mobile performance. News websites are a key offender. These websites are a patch job of badly designed modules. There are far too many adverts, alongside annoying pop-up modals to interrupt your scrolling experience. We fear that this means users will not see the true potential of the web. How can someone envisage that their phone will use fluid and immersive VR, when their device can barely handle reading the news?
Old websites drew inspiration from print media and a lot of these conventions are still present today. The pageless website movement aims to have websites looking closer to a video game or a movie. Essentially, pageless websites excel at creating and controlling a narrative. Nathan B. Weller argues that “when you land on a pageless site you are immediately immersed in the opening lines of a great story.” All that the user needs to do now is “the most natural and intuitive thing on the web: scroll”. The pageless design philosophy ties into the app-looking-website phenomenon. As time has past, and resolutions have grown, businesses have been trying their hardest to cram more content into the user’s screen – more adverts, articles, share buttons, and animation. Many leading websites are using minimalism to stand out amongst the crowd and we expect this trend to continue. We have noticed that many of the web design services Montreal offers are also focusing on this philosophy.

Great Services. I was contacted by the representative few moments after requesting a quote. I received samples and with few back and forth opinions I got the results I was looking for. I was provided with the font to install on my pc as well, this was very appreciated. I also received all the step by step information on how to re-size the image in order to place on different formats including business cards without loosing resolution.. It is worth the investment if you are looking for quality service and results.

Worked with Patrick From Mtl Graphic Design. When it comes to design and you know what you want but need that designer to grasp the idea, tweek it and design it and actually create what you wanted (or surpass your expectations)... that is what we got working with this team. Form their follow ups to their patience in making sure we would get what we wanted. I truly enjoyed our experience and will do business with this team in the future.

I was working with another Montreal design firm on a technical marketing plan for a manufacturing company in the United States. The document was written in word but the client wanted a presentation resembling a high-end print publication. They did not have the time to commit on a short delivery time before the Christmas holidays. We recovered the file but it was in Adobe In Design CC format, so I could not read it. In Design is not easy to use as it is a pretty high-end software. I found Montreal Graphic Design on the internet. Patrick took the document and completely redesigned it. It turned out to be about 63 pages with photos and graphics, captions and quotes. We are really happy with the look of the final report. Everyone loves it. We worked nights and weekends to get it done. The price was right and the quality was world class. We will be back to produce technical literature using the new branding created by Montreal Graphic Design.

After being forgotten by another designer that i tried to work with, I stumbled on Patrick. I clearly explained to him what my vision was for my logo, and he delivered. Extremely fair price considering that the process took barely a week, from beginning to end, with multiple revisions and adjustments. Will definitely recommend him should any of my friends need design work.

His prices are more than fair and he produces quality work.

Small business owners alert! This was my first foray into the world of graphic design. Patrick was extremely helpful and walked me through the process step by step. He stayed very connected responding very quickly and respectfully to my requests (even the dumb questions!). He was the first graphic designer I spoke with that I felt understood what I wanted (I had spoken to and/or worked with 3 others). It was my impression that Patrick was more concerned with capturing my vision than making a quick sale. His efforts exceeded the final cost. Great job Patrick!
